GMU to Build Smart Healthcare Platform with China Unicom Guangdong Branch

 On March 20, 2015, Guangzhou Medical University signed an agreement with China Unicom, Guangdong Branch. GMU will make full use of the information technologies provided by the China Unicom, Guangdong Branch to carry out comprehensive collaboration in the areas of healthcare with the development and application of educational information systems. Together they will work towards a leading smart health-care platform based on kernel technologies  using  big data, cloud computing, the internet and mobile device technologies. GMU will make full use of this information technology.

 The platform will be named the Smart Health-care Institute, a module of Smart City. By using this platform GMU and  Unicom are taking the initiative. to carry out smart healthcare research, to promote the normalization, standardization, platform and information sharing for healthcare information and data collecting. The platform will be first applied, promoted and standardized in GMU and its affiliated hospitals, integrating resources of GMU, China Unicom Guangdong Branch, and operators. By making the best of opportunities such as strategy of innovation-driven development, Guangdong High-level Universities Project, both parties are committed to shaping the Platform as the only one of this kind in Guangdong as well as being the first-class smart healthcare system in China.
