The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) recently announced the evaluation results of projects in 2016. By August 17, 2016, 106 projects from Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) received funding from the NSFC during 2016, including one key project, 50 general projects and 55 projects supported by the Young Scientists Fun. The amount of funds received from the NSFC totaled 40.339 million RMB. It is the first time that more than 100 GMU projects were supported by the NSFC. GMU ranked 80th among universities nationwide and 7th among universities within Guangdong Province.
