Recently, GMU has signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration and exchanges in the areas of health care, education, commercialisation of research findings and partner assistance.
According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate on four major areas: health care, joint training, developing platforms for commecialisation of research findings and partner assistance. They will collaborate on the following projects: Guangzhou Barcelona International Hospital, The Pantheon Medical Centre (tentative name), Affiliated Women and Children Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, a high-level stomatology hospital integrating health care, teaching and scientific research, a high-level tertiary dermatology hospital and a tertiary intelligent ophthalmology hospital.
Taking the great opportunities given by the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the development of high-level universities programmes at provincial and municipal levels, GMU and the Government of Huangpu District have reached an agreement to make full use of resources available to both sides. The healthcare resources and professional training provided by GMU will help Huangpu District to improve its medical service and well-being of the community. In the meantime, GMU will benefit from the favorable policies of Huangpu District for the development of professional training, scientific research, healthcare and cultural heritage and innovation, which will help continue pushing GMU forward into its place as a high-level university.
