Seminar on High-Quality Development of Sino-French Hoffmann Institute Held in GMU

On November 25th,Guangzhou Medical University (GMUhosted a seminar to celebrate the more than a decade-long establishment of the Sino-French Hoffmann Institute (SFHI) . Jules A. Hoffmann, the Nobel laureate, along with other prestigious scholars and researchers from China, France and the United States, as well as senior government officials and guests from various sectors graced the event. They also exchanged valuable insights and suggestions to support the future development and the international cooperation of the Institute.

Zhao Xingcun, President of GMU said that the university would enhance the collaborative efforts and provide comprehensive support to the institute in areas such as platforms, facilities, human resources, favorable policies, and funding.

Representatives from the French partner extended their congratulations on the achievements made by SFHI and looked forward to further expanding the scope of cooperation in scientific research.


The government officials from the Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology expressed their support for the construction of GMU and the SFHI.


Jules Hoffman affectionately recalled his bond with China and GMU. He shared the latest research achievements and future research goals of the institute and expressed his gratitude to all parties that supported this project.

During the open discussion, co-chairs of the SFHI Academic Committee Zhong Nanshan and Cao Xuetao, along with other well-known experts and scholars, engaged in-depth exchanges on topics such as the future direction of the institute, the mode of international cooperation, and the frontiers of immunology research.
