Delegation From GMU Overseas Medical Training Center (Kazakhstan) Completes Landmark Exchange Program in Guangzhou

From June 9 to 20, as an important platform for Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) to deepen the cooperation in medical education with Central Asian countries, Guangzhou Medical University Overseas Medical Training Center (Kazakhstan) ushered in a landmark moment - the first batch of 6 representatives of faculty and students from Astana Medical University came to Guangzhou to carry out 12-day clinical observation and academic exchange program.

  【01 Clinical Observation

On June 9, the delegation commenced their itinerary at the First Affiliated Hospital of GMU, where they toured key facilities, including the Visual Smart Clinic and the National Big-Data Center for Respiratory Medicine. The group also held in-depth discussions with hospital specialists on diagnosis and treatment standard.

The clinical observation was divided into two phases: in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the delegation systematically learned the diagnosis and treatment process and observed the operations of featured technologies; in the Urology Department, they observed Da Vinci robotic surgery on-site and participated in hands-on training . ALI KHIUAZ, the student representative, said that this hands-on experience has broadened her understanding of intelligent healthcare and expressed strong desire to introduce these cutting-edge technologies in Kazakhstan.

【02 Campus Tour】

On June 19, the delegation visited GMU’s Panyu Campus, exploring its Science and Technology Exhibition Hall and the Medical Simulation Center, followed by a roundtable disscusion.

In the meeting, President Zhao Xingcun stated that this visit solidfies the tanglible progress in China-Kazakhstan medical education cooperation. GMU is committed to developing the Center into a premier tranining hub for Central Asian healthcare professionals.

03 Cultural Experience

Beyond clinical exchanges, the delegation experienced Guangdong’s rich heritage at the Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum and the Baietan GBA Art Center, gaining insights into traditional medicine and Lingnan culture.
