Guangzhou Medical University has been authorized to confer master’s degrees since 1984, and enrollment started in 1985. GMU was granted pilot institution for clinical medicine to confer master’s degrees to on-job postgraduates with same academic ability in 2000. It was accredited to confer doctoral degrees in 2001 and the enrollment began at the same year. GMU started to run post-doctoral research station in clinical medicine in 2003.
