On April 15, ShanghaiRanking released its 2025 Best Chinese Universities Ranking. Guangzhou Medical University(GMU), ranked eighth in the sub-ranking of Chinese medical universities and 76th in the overall list, climbing four places from last year to enter the top ten for the first time.

In recent years, GMU has continued to rise in ShanghaiRanking’s list of Chinese medical universities, reflecting its steady progress in implementing the Double First-Class initiative and pursuing high-quality development.

ShanghaiRanking’s evaluation framework for the Chinese medical universities sub-ranking comprises eight modules: institutional standing, academic discipline strength, faculty size and structure, student training and outcomes, scientific research, top-tier faculty and researchers, major projects and achievements, and international competitiveness.First released in 2015, the Best Chinese Universities Ranking has become a widely referenced and influential benchmark for China’s higher-education sector.
