From June 1 to 8, Vice President Li Jianhua led a delegation to Germany and the Netherlands to deepen international partnerships in medical education and research. The visit included meetings with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and Radboud University.

During the trip, the university formalized its partnership with Charité by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. The delegation also explored opportunities to deepen existing programs with the two Dutch institutions, advancing medical cooperation between China and Europe.

Forging New Partnerships in Berlin

The delegation's first stop was Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Agreement were signed. These documents establish frameworks for international talent development and joint research initiatives.

At the meeting, Vice President Li highlighted the strong research foundation already built between the institutions. She noted that cooperation has grown substantially since the launch of an international dental medicine course last year. Li expressed enthusiasm for expanding collaboration in dental research and establishing sustainable joint training programs centered on integrated medical education and research innovation.

Professor Florian Beuer, Dean of Charité's School of Dental Medicine, praised the partnership's progress and pledged full support for undergraduate clinical exchange programs and researcher training initiatives.

Academic Exchange and Site Visits

At an academic symposium titled "Digital Dentistry: Opportunities and Challenges," Professor Li Jiang, Dean of the School of Stomatology, joined colleagues in presenting on dental education and digital technologies in prosthodontics and endodontics. Over 30 specialists from Charité participated in the discussions. The delegation also toured the institution's research laboratories, dental clinic, and medical school museum.
