Guangzhou Medical University unveiled its Overseas Medical Training Center at the China-Dominica Friendship Hospital on Dec 11^th , 2025, advancing the institution's internationalization of medical education.

The inauguration was attended by Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honourable Cassanni Laville, Minister for Health, Wellness and Social Services, and His Excellency Chu Maoming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Dominica, along with hospital leadership.

Minister Laville said the center would address the shortage of professional medical training resources in Dominica and help elevate healthcare standards while cultivating local medical professionals.

Ambassador Chu noted that the initiative exemplifies deepening bilateral cooperation in healthcare and people-to-people exchanges between China and Dominica.

The center draws on resources from Guangzhou Medical University and its affiliated hospitals to deliver professional medical training.
